After a whirlwind of movie watching at Busan and Yamagata Int' Film Festivals—35 feature films in 12 days—I've arrived to the small town of Matsumshima, Japan. The chirping birds and frosted silver ocean are a much needed refuge from the slew of sights and sounds projected on screen. Last week marks three months down on my Watson year and after counting up all of my film reviews I've tallied 89 feature. It might be time to head outdoors and perhaps it's perfect timing as the leaves begin to fall.
